Details of Property: 2 bedroom, year round apartment, 5 minutes from the ski gondola and 5 minutes from the town centre. The apartment is situated in the residential area of Glazne and offers an ideal base for families, couples and a group of friends alike.The apartment is open plan with the living, dining and kitchen area combined. There are two comfortable bedrooms (one double, one twin) with ample storage space.There is also a sofa bed in the lounge.There is one bathroom with a shower over bath. There is a fitted kitchen and dining to accommodate 6.There is a selection of books, games, DVD’s available and CD’s can be played on the DVD system. Satellite TV will be available for the winter 2008/9 season providing English speaking channels.The apartment has a private balcony, with seating providing views over the landscaped gardens and BBQ area. Guests can access the following facilities: Indoor swimming pool with jacuzzi, gym, sauna, infra red sauna, steam room, massage room, children's play room, ski lockers, private garden with BBQ area, car parking, lift, 24 hour security and monitored CCTV. The property is strictly no smoking. Bansko is the number one ski resort in Bulgaria and offers stunning scenery; over 65km of tree lined runs to challenge all levels and includes a 16 km run to the base of the gondola.There is a half pipe for snow boarders, marked tracks for cross country skiers and beginners slopes. The ski season runs from around 15th December until early April. There are a number of English speaking ski schools offering a range of courses to suit all levels of skier/boarder.For those who have younger children not able to ski there are an increasing amount of child care options for which details can be provided on request.
Bansko has many retail shops catering for the ski/board enthusiast, together with a wide selection of rental stores offering good quality equipment. As with all ski resorts, Bansko has a thriving après ski with many modern bars open until the early hours and many traditional mehanas offering live entertainment.There is an outdoor ice-rink during the ski season. Other activities in Bansko include a bowling alley.
The warm climate enjoyed in Bansko provides the ideal base for an abundance of summer activities to suit all tastes. The Pirin national park mountain range is the base for walking, climbing, mountain biking, para-gliding together with nearby golf courses, whitewater rafting, horse riding, abundantly stocked fishing lakes and sites of cultural and historical interest.In early August, Bansko hosts the annual Jazz festival. Summer temperatures can reach the high 30’s and there are a number of open air mineral baths/swimming pools available locally to cater for those wanting to laze away the summer days. Bansko is well served both in the town and locally with traditional mehanas serving excellent local food and drink at much cheaper rates than other ski resorts. A half litre of beer will cost under £1 and a family of 4 can dine easily with drinks for under £20. Certainly much better value than other holiday resorts (winter and summer). The town is 2 hours (160km) from Sofia airport into which several UK airlines regularly fly. Details of low cost airlines, tour operators and national airline companies using both Sofia and the winter airport of Plodiv which is also 2 hours drive (150km) can be provided. Advice on car hire can be found from the link. Private transfers can be arranged at an additional cost. For those wishing to reach Bansko using public transport there is a regular train and bus service from Sofia city centre. Details available on request.
Tariff: Ski Season £300 per apartment per week.Summer Season £200 per apartment per week.Days or longer visits can be accommodated. Price on application. Weekend starts are not always necessary. Property price includes heating and water costs, weekly cleaning, once weekly towel change. Some spa facilities may incur additional costs. Swimming pool use included. A booking deposit (non-refundable) of £100 secures each booking. The final balance is required 8 weeks prior to departure, together with a £100 security deposit which is refundable upon satisfactory inspection of the apartment.
