Description
SYP Men’s Basketball is a long established section of the Sport’s and Social Club.
The team consists of colleagues, both Police and Police staff as well as their children.
The team play competitive basketball in the Sheffield Basketball League.
This league is a ‘central venue’ league and is based at the English Institute of Sport at
Attercliffe, Sheffield. Games are played midweek, usually Wednesday or Thursday.
The team also compete in the PoliceSport UK national championships.
This normally consists of a qualifying tournament and the National Finals.
The team receives generous financial support from the Force Sports and Social Club,
however team members also contribute subs. The team includes players with varying
levels of ability and experience. New members are always welcomed into the team.
